"a life in art"

current & upcoming shows

February 1st, 2008: Adele Cohen (1922-2002)

A retrospective of noted Western New York abstract painter widely exhibited in such venues as the Phoenix Gallery (the oldest co-operative gallery in New York) Albright Knox Gallery and Burchfield-Penney Art Center, Buffalo and the New Gallery in Tel Aviv.

Adele Cohen's inner vision exposes the profoundly universal themes of life, death, despair, and redemption in an abstract idiom that is singularly her own.

Rooted in expressionism, and reflecting her view of the human condition, Cohen's work seeks beauty in the dark side of life.
